Special Talk: “Intergenerational Trauma and Collective Identity among Jinghpaw, Kachin Ethnicity from Myanmar”

On 25 September 2026, the East-West Psychological Science Research Center, Faculty of Psychology, Chulalongkorn University, hosted a Special Talk entitled “Intergenerational Trauma and Collective Identity among Jinghpaw, Kachin Ethnicity from Myanmar,” delivered by Manam Ja Seng Ing, Counseling Psychologist from Assumption University.

The talk invited participants to explore the relationship between intergenerational trauma and collective identity within the Jinghpaw, Kachin ethnic community from Myanmar, highlighting how experiences across generations may be connected to the ways individuals and communities understand their shared identity.

Through the lens of intergenerational trauma research, the session provided an opportunity to reflect on the psychological and cultural dimensions of collective experiences, as well as the importance of understanding trauma within its broader social and cultural context.
